Twelve Tribes Community in Lancaster
Lancaster, New Hampshire,
United States
Tucked away in the heart of the beautiful White Mountains of northern New Hampshire, you will find a cozy little town – Lancaster! Here within this small town of about 2,000 people you’ll find us – The Community in Lancaster! We are part of a new and emerging culture, The Twelve Tribes. Since this community in Lancaster began in 1988, we have been slowly growing both in number and in our love for one another. We have nothing better to do than to love one another and care for each other’s needs the same way that Yahshua, the Son of God did when he walked the earth. We are truly grateful for this abundant, rich life that he died to establish. In response to his great love for us, we spend our day’s together working, dancing, sharing, teaching, caring, playing music, and even an occasional game of volleyball.
Our community here in Lancaster is unique in that we own and operate a shoe and clothing store by the name of Simon The Tanner. Here we aim to provide our friends and neighbors with quality shoes and clothing at an affordable price. We sell footwear and modest apparel made mostly of natural fibers. Nestled in one of the corners of the store you’ll find one of our infamous Common Ground Cafés. Here, folks of all ages can come in for a wholesome sandwich, soup, salad or bread made fresh daily from wholesome ingredients. Some of the men in our community help support us by working together on a construction crew - roofing, building, plumbing, you know – basic good, hard work. We enjoy working together for a common cause. We always have more projects than we can get to. At home, you’ll find us milking the goats, home-schooling our children, making cheese, renovating our houses, making quilts, washing lots of dishes, all with a thankful heart. What else could we do for the one who did everything for us?
Please, if you are ever in northern New Hampshire, stop by for a visit at the store or give us a call at the house. We welcome you to come and witness the life that we speak of. We would love to get to know you!
