| An hour west of Washington, D.C. – Near the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, our little farm sits peacefully along the twisting Catoctin Creek. Unless you walked through the nearby town of Hillsboro during rush hour, you might not realize that the bustle and business of the Nation’s Capitol continually pulses just a little more than an hour away.
We have an Organic Farm and Farm Stand right next to busy Route 9. We love to have WOOFers and anyone else interested in organic farming to visit or to stay and learn a little of what we do.
As in all of the Twelve Tribes communities. We are a spiritual people. However, our emphasis is not on rites and rituals, but on love. To us, knowing God means walking in love. For this reason, we share all of our possessions in common and we choose to live together in households, where we can be in very close fellowship with one another.
Most everything we do, we do together. This includes working, eating, cleaning, and enjoying recreational activities. But we also hold on to traditional family values. We acknowledge the sanctity of marriage, and the proper rearing of our children as of the highest importance. We want our children to know that they are loved, and to understand the purpose for their lives.
Those of us here in the community share a very special life together as we are knitted together by a common cause: We fully believe in the goodness of our Creator, yet are persuaded that He deserves more than modern Christianity. However, our intention is not to be critical of the efforts of others, but to give ourselves to being a people who are full of life and care for their fellow man.
We have guests here often. We would love for you to come for a visit! | |
