A seed is planted in the magical Chihuahuan Desert near the old mining ghost town of Terlingua, and located not far from Big Bend National Park, the Rio Grande River, and the border of Mexico.
PAZ Ecovillage, is an oasis of biodiversity that represents a Permanent Autonomous Zone, or PAZ, dedicated to self-reliance, self-expression, sustainability, freedom, and peace from the conventional standards of society by utilizing the path of least resistance; the natural environment, conserving its resources, and living in cohesion, on a general consensus-based community with the Earth.
Our overall intention and creative objectives are directed towards,
1. Co-creating the building of several sustainable structures.
2. To incorporate environmental values and sustainability into the broader community.
3. Expanding on the ability to accommodate many diverse groups of people.
4. Hosting conferences, retreats and educational trainings on the following aspects of sustainability.
We plan to hold workshops, demonstrations, and programs on permaculture, organic gardening, sustainable living, eco systems, and renewable technologies like bio fuel, wind power & solar energy. We also plan to promote specific eco-construction trainings on adobe, earthship biotecture, autonomous building, and various other sustainable dwellings.
There will be dedicated areas around the property for outdoor art installations & art showings. As well as, an educational school building, a holistic & naturopathic healing arts center, an events amphitheater for music & dance performances, and an independent travelers hostel, all in the planning stages for the near future...
