Twelve Tribes Community in San Sebastian
San Sebastian,
Spain
(Vasc Country)
 Comunidad de Ulía-San Sebastian. Spain.
Have you ever heard about that lion that spent its whole life in a cage? One day a loving hand opened the door to free it. The public and news reporters waited with great anticipation. And do you know what that lion did? It went out slowly, looked around, yawned, turned around and sat right back inside its open cage.
We are able to enjoy our life together because we have been freed from the cage of guilt, fear, pride, selfishness, etc. This is where we were locked in our whole lives. Now, we don’t need to live a self-seeking life, worrying about our own needs. But we can live for a higher purpose, which is to bring our Saviour’s kingdom on earth. We are in a covenant of friendship, which makes us able to truly meet our friend’s needs. We can do this because of our Master Yahshua. We are living the same kind of life that His disciples lived in the First Century. He was the loving hand that opened our cages.
We share our lives together in obedience to His commandments and learn from the example of the early communities that formed when the apostles preached the Gospel. (Book of Acts) We need His Word to have the strength and valor to keep living free, “outside the cage”, forgiving and being forgiven. We believe that we can learn from our personal failures in order that we may have compassion for others.
Here, in the community of Mount Ulía, located on the pilgrims’ way called Camino de Santiago (St. James Way) we give ourselves to keep burning the fire that He came to start on earth. His love has set our hearts on fire to bring an age of peace for mankind. We are a part of the Tribe of Shimon, which belongs to the Twelve Tribes.
We all enjoy our busy community life where everyone is loved and necessary, old and young alike. There are so many different things to do: Cutting the wood, peeling potatoes, getting spring water, sewing clothes, working in the garden, doing laundry, construction work, or baking delicious bread and cookies that we sell in markets and at our “Common Sense” food store which is down the hill in the city of San Sebastian.
We don’t practice rituals or do self-improving therapies, but we gather every morning and evening to dance and sing to our Creator, thanking Him for the restoration of our lives, which starts taking place in everyone’s heart and extends to our marriages, families and friends.
You are really welcome here. You can stay as long as you need to, to see if this is the life your heart has been longing for. You may want to be a part of a people who celebrate with joy. Every Friday night at sunset we have a special celebration to welcome the Sabbath, which is just a shadow of the age of peace that is coming to the earth. You are invited. Call, write us or just come anytime.
